Be careful with P@H hay

Not what you want to find but not that surprising. My farm hay bales from the local nursery are always tied up with orange twine like this so easy to see how it can end up in the hay bag when being mass processed

Shame it isn't blue be easier to see.

After a look it seems clear so far. Hopefully it's just a one off

I found a dead dehydrated mouse once and a squished frog .. not that brand tho... always best to feel and separate your hay when dishing it out!

Yes, I once found a dead rat in a bale of hay Again, not from PAH but it was a one off I think. I always siv through hay before giving it to the piggies

I suppose it’s a natural product and sadly rats, mice and frogs are to be found in fields and get caught up in the cutting process. Baler band and other plastics are a real concern but not a surprise when you see the amount of plastics thrown away in hedgerows from car drivers, very sad

In the bottom of my PAH hay bag was a tree branch measuring about 12” x 4” ... it was the first time I bought their hay and was the last time !

We occasionally find bits of wood or other plant stems but mostly it's fine and our boys enjoy it. The bunnies only really like the posh stuff (Oxbow) and go crazy for Alfalfa hay (not too much allowed).

I found a dry cow pat in one of my bags of b and m hay, you're bound to found different stuff in any bag of hay, it's thorns that make me mad, even though it can't really be helped either

Thanks for the warning. I would recommend not buying their wood shavings from there either. We found a chocolate bar wrapper, rubber and hard pieces of wood. We now use horse bedding and it is much softer and definitely worth the money
