Bean is almost 12 weeks old and I’ve had him since before he was born because I own both of his parents. He had 2 sisters who’ve both gone to a new home. He is terrified of everything. He constantly hides in a hidey house in his cage. The only time I see him is when I walk into the room and he’s talking to the other two in the cage opposite, then as soon as he sees me he runs away and hides. I understand that it takes time for them to get used to people but I thought that he would fine with me since I held him from the day he was born. He doesn’t leave his house when I’m in the room unless I’ve just put food in his bowl. I feel bad whenever I try to hold him because he looks terrified and doesn’t move the whole time he’s out of his cage. Is there anyway I can tame him a bit? I’ve tried getting him to take food out of my hand but he’s too scared to eat it.

Hi! Is Bean on his own and not with another piggy? In that case, he is feeling very exposed and missing the company of an older piggy that can give him the guidance and support that he desperately craves. As soon as he has that, his confidence will come on in leaps and bounds.

My Henry was like this when I got him (he was 2-3 months at the time). He remained like your Bean until I got him an older pig friend. It just so happened that his friend was very people friendly and would even greet me at his cage. Henry took a lot of personality traits from his friend and slowly became more and more human friendly. I think you should get him a buddy!
