So bean I got from a pet store who I think is 6 months to a year old. Today I noticed that one eye is squinted and one is open he has no liquids around the eye. He seems to pur while like this. Amy ideas of what it is? I never had a guinea pig like this so I am very scared of what it might be he does have another guinea pig with him named waffles.

Maybe something like a tiny piece of hay stuck in his eye.or a piece of hay has poked in his eye.is there any cloudiness to the eye? This can happen,especially with straw bedding

Ok. Maybe could be dental issue on that side. Someone should be along who knows alot more soon.try and find a guinea pig specialist vets in your area. Somwhere on this site is a search engine for that. I think but I'm not sure. That crusting can be from the liquid that comes out when the eye is injured. And its has dried up causingbthe crust. Is he eating hay ok?

Any eye problem should be seen by a vet as eyes can deteriorate very quickly. It could be a hay poke. Your vet will put an orange dye in to the eye and shine an ultra violet light. That will show up any ulcers
