Adult Guinea Pig
I took my Beano to the Vet this morning. She has been passing small spots of blood for the past three weeks. Some of it with what may be clots. (See pics.) (No sign of pain when pee-ing, though.) Beano is absolutely fine apart from this. Christina the Vet examined her fully. She palpated her bladder and managed to get a small urine sample (which had blood in). Some of this was tested for crystals - none present. Christina thought that Beano's left armpit Lymph node was slightly enlarged. (Lymphoma? Not again?!) I asked for Septrin or Zithromax. Christina was happy to prescribe Septrin; 0.7 ml twice a day. Glucosamide capsules were suggested as well, but I wanted to try her on just the Septrin first. Beano had this problem in June last year. Baytril and Metacam were prescribed then, and it took a long time for the problem to clear up completely. That's why I asked for Septrin. We have a repeat appt for next Monday.
