:DSO, I had £75 in my bank balance this morning. One vet visit later, and it's been reduced by £72! :bye:
Beano passed a small amount of blood yesterday. She was out in the garden stuffing her face with grass all afternoon! I found a very small soft lump of blood in her hut when I brought them inside in the evening. Then she passed a small amount when indoors. I saw her wee twice this morning and it looked normal, but took her for a check-up to be on the safe side. Her temperature was taken; normal. The vet palpated her bladder and she did a wee on the table. The vet did a Litmus test which showed that there was blood present although it was not visible. He diagnosed possible Cystitis. She was given Baytril and Metacam by injection, prescribed 1/3 Cystaid capsule once per day and Baytril 0.4 ml once per day. Next appointment 4.00 pm Monday. I have to collect a urine sample on the same day. I will let you all know what happens. :tu:

Hope the medication helps. If there is no improvement I would ask the vet about Septrin instead of Baytril as it tends to be more effective for UTIs.

:DBeano update; She is still fine this morning, ate all her veg and greens. I saw a small spot of blood in her hut last night, but no obvious signs of blood this morning. I gave her her medication, she didn't like that! I will try to remember to ask about Septrin on Monday if they find blood in her wee again. I have to collect a sample on Monday before we go to the vet. I did mention that I was wary of using Baytril after what it did to Clyde, as it does suppress the appetite. The vet sad that he had had a bad reaction to the surgery. I think that was only part of the problem. See you on Monday! :tu:

:DBeano update No. 2.
Have been giving her the Baytril and Cystaid over the weekend and have seen no obvious blood in her urine since Friday. Took her to the vet today for a check-up. Couldn't get a urine sample from her before we left home, and the vet couldn't get her to wee either! Suggested that I continue with the meds. However, a short while after we got home again, she did a wee and there WAS obvious blood in it. Just when you think you're out of the woods......:td: She's absolutely fine in every other way.
If I can get a sample from her, I will take it in.
