Hello everyone,

Does enyone here have experience with beaphar care+ food?
The other day I was at the pet store to buy some new food and the lady advised me that beaphar should be better for them?
She gave me a sample to try.
When I got home I gave it to my piggy’s and they went nuts for it 😂.
I allways feed them timothy hay based pellets of good quality and I’m not sure if I should switch 🤔.
Hope you will have some advice 😊

Do you have a picture of the food?
Beaphar do a range of guinea pig foods, but their website cleverly doesn't list the actual ingredients (which make me suspicious).
Additionally they also do several muesli style foods which have been shown to be far less than ideal.

I looked into it too and couldn’t find anything. I got the sample in a plastic bag so I don’t have the original bag.
But i’ll send photo’s off how the food and the bag look like 😊

I found a list of ingredients on Amazon …. I wouldn’t feed it to them!

Ingredients according to amazon

Yucca, echinacea, green tea, cereals, vegetable, seeds, minerals, yeasts, algae

There is not even timothy hay in it 😳.
I’m realy happy I didn’t just buy it and checked here first.
Thank you for the help and advice ☺️

To be honest the company in question are quite well known for offering low grade pet products that are readily available in pet shops.
My personal impression is that quality and animal welfare are not at the forefront of their design.
The fact that their own website doesn't list ingredients started alarm bells ringing for me.
If it's a good quality product then surely you would want to share this information with potential clients?

Well done for doing your research first, and at least the piggies got a little treat for free.

Also those coloured nuggets annoy me. They've a thing on their site saying the colourings, per EU law, need to be removed from their rabbit food, and the rabbits won't notice the difference because they can't see the colours anyway. It's a hell of a thing to admit to putting unnecessary ingredients in your food just for the owners, and admitting to only removing them because "the rules say we have to".

I realy don’t understand that these bad products are allowed to be sold. Why should there be food colouring in there in the first place?
Offcourse the piggy’s love to eat them because they smell like thyme and are filled with unhealthy things.
The owners off the piggy’s see them liking the pellets so they keep buying them with all kinds off healty issues as result 😔.
