It's been almost two weeks since we picked up Bear from Summerleaze, and almost three weeks since we "rescued" Xander from Wyevale, and in that time we've been setting up their pen. So today, Bear and Xander moved in together... albeit with a temporary (hopefully) divider until later in the week when we can remove it and keep an eye on them and see if it's possible that we can bond them...

Xander top left, Bear top right, Dylan bottom left, Boomer bottom right... Pepe and Leo on the other side of the room... Denny & Alan oustide still (that's another story :() )

Xander & Bear, neighbours :)

And their first, albeit brief introduction together...

Marty (Keeping his fingers crossed that they'll bond)

PS, they're missing their water bottles only because Julie's gone to refill them all... didn't want anyone thinking we don't provide them with water!

Things look very hopeful there, I will keep my fingers crossed! Lovely pics!

I was lucky enough to give the gorgeous Bear a cuddle today....Xander unfortunately decided to hide in his tube :))

That's a great set up! Do you have trouble cleaning the bottom out with it being the same size as the above C&C?

They are gorgeous boys, and look I can see Boomer! x)

A little bit, but the middle three panels on the bottom level pull out (they're the "weaker" B&Q ones) so I can then get inside. When I cleaned Boomer out last night I popped him down on the carpet while I pulled his tub out... the little rascal then proceeded to try and eat...

1 The plastic bag I was putting the old newspaper in
2 The doorstop
3 The edge of the tub (whilst I'm trying to empty it)
4 The bag of Cavy Cusisine that was underneath Pepe and Leo'c CNC

I'm going to have to get a "holding pen" to pop him in... with Dylan I can just put him on the carpet in this slipper bed and he won't go anywhere :)

Crumbs, you guys have multiplied! Set up looks good Martin, bit back breaking to clean though I should think.:) Boomer sounds just like my Flossie, I can't leave her alone with anything for a minute she eats everything - black sacks, dustpan, dustpan brush, hay bag, food box .......etc.

I certainly seem to have missed you sneaking some of those gorgeous boys in! Look forward to being able to have some piggy cuddles with new and old boys soon.:)

gorgeous boys hope they become best friends :)

Brilliant pigtures Julie and Marty - it's so good to see Bear. Xander and him look so alike too.

Bear has come along way from that little scared lice ridden piggy that I picked up all those months ago - it is very satisfying to know he has his own piggy parents now. I'm sure he'll reward all your hard work and bond with Xander, it's fantastic though that your setup allows you to take it really really slowly. Bear is such a sweetheart and I love the fact that he's an indoor piggy - always the best homes in my opinion.

Just in case anyone is interested Bear came into rescue here with me because the child of 11 who had Bear and another single boar was given the choice by her mother

....... " karate or the pigs, you can't have both".

Obviously the pigs lost their home but to be honest they have both gone on to very caring homes so maybe in the long run it was the right decidion for the pigs. It was obvious to me that they had been rarely handled anyway and they didn't even have names ( this is suprisingly a common occurrence 8... )

Anyway enough of my waffle - I'm not going to hijack the thread but it is lovely to see "my Big Bear" the fella with the big whistle ! :) :) :)

Hi Louise!

He's a really handsome lad and so gentle with Xander. They are still seperated but we are bonding slowly and surely. We'll obviously keep you updated :)

Thank you again for letting us rehome him - I just can't believe someone would give him up.
