Beautiful Izziebella

I am in shock, as today we also lost our adorable fiesty Izziebella to the same pneumonia that took Buzz. She had been showing symptoms for longer but they were not typical of pneumonia, she had stopped eating and was in pain but we were still investigating why. She had an xray yesterday which showed nothing other than bloat.

This morning after getting back from taking Buzz to be PTS we noticed that Izzie was doing a similar retching movement to the one Buzz had been doing all day yesterday and seemed to be jolting in pain like he was this morning. She was also very limp and lethargic which was very unusual for her. We rushed her straight to the vet who advised that she should be PTS as it was not fair on her for her to go through what Buzz had done hours earlier. So she left us today too. Am gutted.

She had come so far from that terrified little pig that came to live with us.

Night night my beautiful girl, no winding Rosie up by rubbing your bum on the floor. Gertie and Honey will look after you and Johnny too. We will love you forever.

I am very sorry for your loss; it is always very upsetting losing two piggies to the same illness. Some strains of URI can sadly be very resistant to medication.

Yes Wiebke I think this was a completely different strain to the one Buzz got over a few months ago, it hit him out of the blue this time, whereas before Zithromax worked wonders, there was however no time for that this time, he went downhill so rapidly.
