Demeter, the pregnant piggie that I adopted gave birth in the early hours to a single female piglet :D
Best possible outcome as it means that I can keep her ;) (well, she does go so well with the duvet cover)
Being Demeter's only daughter, she was born into the name Persephone (per-seff-on-ey)

Oh she is gorgeous :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: so tiny, congratulations! one of my sows is called persephone but we call her Sephy :smitten: its from the book naughts and crosses!

Awwww, so cute! Isnt Persephone the goddess of summer? I looked after a child called Persephone when I was a nursery nurse. All the staff adored her, and her name!

Demeter is the godess of seasons... Persephone is godess of the underworld - she was tricked into staying there by Hades (she ate some pomegranite, which meant she had to stay there or something!). Demeter was really upset and told Zeus (Persephone's dad and Demeter's brother)... Zeus made a compromise with Hades (also his and Demeter's brother) that Persephone could spend one season above ground - that is summer... (the seasons depict Demeter's mood)
Off the top of my head - I think that's right... not read the story for years though :)

I'll get some pics of them together soon, mum is very nervous, so I've only taken 1 pic of her so far... I was so worried about stressing her out!
