We are proud to announce the engagement of Miss Thelma Becklen (Sponsor Pig, formerly of Gretna) to Mr Arthur Pendragon Higgs (Cumbrian Fighting Boars, retired, of Carlisle).

This announcement has been delayed due to bidding wars for the photos, but the happy couple have finally decided not to go with OK or Hello, but to stick with their favourite website TGPF.

The engagement and secret wedding took place on 18th July 2010 at the Mill Hotel, Gretna.
First meeting over the ceremonial carrot (the old forge anvil was already in use that day)

Auntie Hels was Matron of Honour and Montgomery Albert Higgs stood as Best Pig. Monty was upset that he didn't get to, eh hem, 'snog a bridemaid', so he had to make do with a snuggle with Auntie Hels instead.

Thelma is a sedate 4 year old lady, with arthritis and cysts and Arthur is a retired military pig (judging by multiple scars all over his head and body) who is now virtually blind in both eyes. Both were seeking a soulmate to spend the best years of their lives with.

Thelma and Arthur have now been together six weeks, and we are pleased to say they seem like an old married couple and are very happy together.

Thelma has, however, decided to keep her own name - Miss Thelma Becklen - as she will remain a Becklen Sponsor Pig, here in a Becklen fostering home.

congratulations to the happy couple, whee wish you many years of wheeking together and we were going to send you some congratulatory veg, but unfortunately, little gold has scoffed the lot. Wheek wheek, from the lancaster boars.
 
What a fairytale ending, I am so delighted for the happy couple!

Thelma and Arthur thank you for the kind gesture of veg. Thelma says she can understand Little Gold's actions, as she scoffs all veg as soon as she sees it too:x
 
The Tribe send their congratulations to the happy couple. There have been a few tears shed, but also some huge smiles!

Please excuse if this post is a bit damp in places caused by some drool, but the sight of all those wonderful carrots is just too appetising!

Delightful. How nice to see a happy ending after all of the relationship break ups we have had recently on the forum. Perhaps they could affer some marriage guidance counselling to some of the other couples?:))

I'm not so sure about the marriage guidance; even after six wheeks Arthur is still not quite managing to 'line himself up properly':red, but hey, practice makes perfect, but Thelma is getting a bit peeved with him trying to have sex with her ear!:{
They are lovely companions for each other, and like to sleep snuggled upx>>, and she has taught him how to use a water bottle. She also helps guide him round the cage with his failing sight:rose
Presently they are next to me sharing hay from the rackx)
