I went and collected two new piggies from piggybaker today :D (From the 8 for £10 piggies) One is a rex and the other a texel - although possibly a bit mixed with something else? Hopefully once they are settled I will try and bond them.
Anyway . . I have already noticed how many bits of hay and seeds have got stuck in the texel's hair and so I am wondering whats best to bed him on? My other group are on newspaper and hay which gets cleaned every other day so that works fine. But I was wondering what's best for this one - maybe the hay needs to be kept to a rack? ?

What about vetbed I find it's great, although my girls are shorthaired

Just staretd using vetbed for Gilbert he loves it. i use a clumping wood based cat litter underneath.
Daily cleaning hoover poos off vetbed and remove clumps from underneath, working brilliantly so far!

It doesnt make a difference, I have tried both with my long haired, you will need to groom him every day to keep his coat in nice condition :)

Mine are trimmed and on Medibed though they much prefer to sleep in the hay rack ::)

Have tried all sorts and have gone back to newspaper plus hay - with a brush through each day. We have an alpaca and like Karen tend to keep Jazz "trimmed" which does help and the bits certainly come out more easily from the shorter hair. Good luck.

Mine are also on Aubiose and hay. But i trim around there bums every week and brush them daily as they just love to sit in their own wee!
