Hi, I have two guinea pigs, Oliver and Butterball. I have tried the fleece bedding, but every time I put it down they burrow up under it and eat what every they can of the next layer. What do I do to stop this?
 
What type of cage do you have? You could put the fleece the sides of the base of your cage and put the roof of the cage on so it holds the fleece in place if that makes senses!
 
If you have large enough fleece you could put the fleece edges up and over the blue base sides then put your wire roof back on to hold it in place :)
 
You could try weighing it down in the comers with food bowls, hidey holes e.c.t ! My piggie (Poppy) as my avatar does this but I just say No and she stops! Good luck!

Do you think I should get a larger cage, and that might stop some of it because I think the reason they do it so much is because they are bored.
 
What size is your cage? It is difficult to see properly in the photo, but it does look rather small for two pigs. Also it looks rather cluttered. Could you get them a 2 X 5 (or more) C and C cage? With more room to exercise, they will spend less time chewing what they shouldn't. Plus they'll be lot happier too.
 
It would be great if you could get them a larger cage but I think they would still go under the fleece. Guinea pigs love exploring and hiding/burrowing.
 
Maybe if you put 2 layers of fleece then there will still be one as a base if the piggies burrow under the first layer of fleece:).
 
Or even a smaller cut out bit of fleece lying loose in their cage. Then they can snuggle and burrow in that? :)

Yeah we just recently ordered a bigger cage, with a pull out tray so I believe it will be a little better then.:)
 
Mine are in big c&ccages and still burrow under the fleece if they can.Just what they do
 
I had to pin fleece at all points or they'd go under. You could make a fleece cage liner or buy one or even vetbed as its so heavy mine couldn't get under :)
