Hey guys,

I've been MIA for a while since losing my two piggies Chipotle & Machete. I got a new baby not too long ago & she's been doing great! But we fell on hard times suddenly when my company downsized & I lost my job. Therefore the CareFresh bedding is sometimes just more expensive then I need when I need it. I went today to my local petstore & they recommended PetsPick Kiln-Dried All natural pine bedding. It seems soft & not too dusty, so I bought it. It was much cheaper on me & is really just a temporary thing until I can get some better bedding. I've always used CareFresh but now I'm wondering if that was even worth it.

Please give me any opinions you guys have! And stories of experience too :)
 
I can't give you opinions on that but if you want a cheap bedding I use shredded paper.

I put newspaper down first then spread shredded paper across the cage.
 
I do the same. As far as I know, pine bedding is at least better than cedar. Never use cedar. Though, I am curious in details about that so anyone that knows, just chime in :) anyways, another alternative is fleece. Very cheap in the long run though there are some pros and cons you have to consider. There are many stickies with specifics about that. Hope I helped :)

hi be carefull on pine check it out on websites ie guinea pig websites , we used to use fleeces was the with white vinegar stops piggies from chewing them kills of any nastys aswell , shreaded news paper get urself a shreader saves on buying bedding but fleeces great as long as you hav a good supply ,

but i am sure over the years i hav seen problems with pine not quite sure i will do a check 4 *
 
See, I got my guinea pigs in there cage already layered up with newspaper, pine, and then recycled paper to top it off. I'll research pine a little more for myself. Thanks for your help deakierivers :)
 
So after all that, I found my normal paper litter in a big bag that had barely been opened :X I'm so silly! So I used it & she's loving it. I'll maybe save that for a rainy day.
