Bedding

To try and cut down on rubbish that the guinea pigs create and try tomake things tidier all round.
For the hutch I have decided to trial newspaper topped witha towel then fleece. They seem to do their buisness in particular spots so I am not to worried about that.
Now can I have some advice as to maintaining this routine. I still will do a weekly clean and change the fleece
on wednesdays. (full clean is saturdays)
So I assume this must be ok setup with people having no sawdust in indoor cages.

My 2 boys are on newspaper, towels and fleece also. I change it out every 3-4 days, or it'll get smelly (boys will be boys haha). For me this setup is a lot easier than it was at first, when they were on sawdust.
I have 4 different fleeces that I rotate, so I can put new ones in when the dirty ones are in the washer. I used to have 2, but it wasn't enough, since sometimes I can't wash it right away.

hehe thanks. That is twitch (formerty titch)
He is literally a giant 900g ball of fluff. He kinda just twitches everywhere hence
his name.
I have another one his name is flash he is in his bedroom. They prefer eseperate beds. :-)

My pigs love fleece, and I do find it less messy. I find it easiest though just to have a tray of bedding (I prefer paper-based bedding) to keep their hay in. I find that pigs naturally seem to prefer doing their wees on the bedding, keeping their fleece areas fresher and dryer for longer, plus you don't get so many hay pieces stuck in the fleece, so it's easier to keep. It wouldn't cut out so much waste this way, but it is easier to maintain

I prefer fleece in terms of waste too. I also have my pigs outdoors. Just make sure like people have said you have a few fleeces so when you wash one you've got another one to go in.
