Bedding.

I have recently rescued two male piggies. For the bedding I have put wood shavings on the very bottom (not saw dust), straw quite deep on top of that and hay on the very top. Is this ok?

We don't recommend straw as it is too spikeyoung. Hay is better

Hay on top works a treat . Gives them plenty of burrowing and tunnelling opportunity and is less likely to cause eye injuries than straw.

I use a hemp based bedding in their hay trays and lots of hay. I did use newspaper at first but found that it soaked up the urine and became smelly. Now its justhemparade and hay hay hay.
