Do you think I should change te bedding of my hutch to fleece [ I would use towels ] ? I would love to but I dont know how it works ! Any advice ?

Thanks, Alan {:|{:|:(|):(|):):)

It's personal choice really.
Towels, make sure they are very fine thread so the claws don't get caught in it. Fleece as such is better because there isn't any thread.
You need to clean the hutch every day to get rid of the poo's, so piggy doesn't trample through them all day long.

In my indoor C & C I use a layer of newspaper (for absorbing the wee's) then a fleece piece cut to size for the cage. I change the fleece every two days and chuck it in the washing machine after shaking the hay off. So I have several pieces of fleece on the go at the same time.

If you already got fleece laying around at home just give it a go and see if that version is for you!

Fleece/towel outside may get cold and damp. I'd say a thick layer of newspaper, a layer of woodshavings and a thick layer of hay would be best for you x

Oops, I don't know why I thought you were outside. I'll shut my mouth x

I would say that fleece is not suitable if the hutch is outside. It might be OK in a shed though.

I know it might not be the best choice outside but the back garden is COVERED in wood shavings and hay ! :(:(:( My Mam and Dad arn't too fond of it, and I have no other ideas ! :(:(:(

Fleece

I have been using fleece in my outside hutch for a few weeks & its fine. The only time its damp is when piggies wee on it, as when it rains I zip the hutch up in the hutch cover. Considering my 2 hate drinking water they can certainly wee alot. The bottles are always full when I change the water.I've tried putting bowls in but the piggies back away from them.

I'm driven by my finances when it comes to bedding. I started off on fleece because I thought it would be cheaper but it gets wet and smelly so quickly and has to be washed every day and the electric for my washing machine's expensive. I use megazorb in my rabbits litter trays and this week I tried it with my pigs and tbh they seem to much prefer it. I pay 6.80 a bag and I reckon a bag would do 5 or 6 changes?
