Really?

Should I just shred newspaper and put hay on top? Do they eat the hay on the floor?

I used Carefresh for Pigglywink, and it was great, although I'm going to be investing in some Vetbed for the next piggies, once I get the hutch built. I've people say that you can use fleece (regular), but I don't know what type exactly they're referring to. The type I bought at the store (polar fleece) was an unmitigated disaster, but I'm sure someone could help you figure it out if you wanted to try that route.

hi no i dont shred the newspaper i just lay several lays of it on the cage /hutch floors and then i put the hay on top yes they do eat the hay and they should allways have hay readly available to eat

I'm not a fan of fleece, I'd rather just have bagged bedding, to be honest.

Dx

Ok, if I were to do mostly newspaper and a layer of Carefresh, how many liters would I need to get to last me a month?

A 60 L bag would last me a month for one guinea pig, so probably double it for two or three... 120 L?

I'd just stock up with the biggest bag you can and experiment, so you know for future reference how much you use. We aren't all going to use EXACTLY the same amounts, We are all different people and use different amounts of bedding, hay and woodshavings/whatever you use.

Thats my opinion. :))
