Gandalf is being a bit strange but I know he is still getting use to his enviroment i have almost had him 2 weeks. I know not all guinea pigs like being picked up or petted but Gandalf is weired about it. He will eat his pellets out of my hand and sniff me and rub against me but when i go to pet him or pick him up he squeals bloody murder. I am always gental with him the same as with Gilbert. Maybe he just does not like being picked up and thats how he tells me.

This is normal. He is comfortable around you to be able to take food from your hand, but some piggies just do not like being touched and certainly not like being picked up.

Is there any way i can get him use to being picked up? It makes harder when I let them have floor time or need to trim his nails

You can try the piggy whispering tips but as prey animals, they aren’t geared towards being picked up so many never come round to like it. Understanding Prey Animal Instincts, Guinea Pig Whispering And Cuddling Tips
The easiest way to pick them up to do the day to day care is to herd them into a carrier of some sort (pet carrier or snuggle sack) and then get them from there. Mine don’t like being picked up, so this is how I do it. I still have go be very quick about doing the care tasks and they are mostly desperate to be put back down again.

Also, you haven’t had him for very long. Some piggies settle in quickly, some take months to become confident enough. It isn’t a quick process and not something you can hurry. They need to become confident with you in their own time
