[Dubes boyz]

Hello all. Having only had one Guinea pig at a time, I bit the bullet and bought three at the same time! Dave, Kev and George have moved into their two storey home, which is where the problems lies.
Kev and George get on well, as do Dave and Kev, but George chase's Dave everywhere and even tries to mount him! These means that Kev and George live upstairs and Dave is "Billy-no-mates" downstairs!
Any idea's, or will they eventually get on?

Going from only have one to having 3 boys is brave! Trio's of boys are notoriously hard to keep happy and there is almost always at least one weak link in the relationship.

Personally i would monitor them for a while and see if they can intergrate as a group, keep checking them all regualrly for nips to their ears, nose or bites on their bottom area. Specifially on Dave. It amy be the case that George and Kev will have a better relationship without Dave around.

If your two teir hutch/cage is big enough, you may be able to seperate dave and get him a rescue friend. Lots of rescues provide a boar dating service, where you take your male piggy to meet other male piggies to see who he gets along with best.

Unforutunatly trios of boars are very tricky. You have been very unlucky here, can i just as where they came from?

They came from Pets At Home.

It seems that Dave and George are getting on better today, at least they are sharing the lower deck!

Unforunatly animals from pets at home are just plucked from random and sold, with no empahsis on the bond of the pair, or in this case trio. I dont want to put you off, or sound harsh but please be aware that it is very likely once they become hormonal a fight will break out. Not certain, but likely.

Your best bet for preventing this is as much space as possible, 13sq ft idealy, no less than 10.5sq ft. Three of everything. Hidey houses, food bowls, water bottles, etc. I know thats alot of information, it is not your fault you have been put in this sittuation.



Its great that they are getting on right now though. How old are they?

They're 10 weeks and all came from the same litter.

I may have been a bit hasty in my post as they all seem to be getting on better each day.

Thats great . But please be aware the hormones wont start for aproximatly 6 weeks, this is when problems are likely to occur, from then untill about a year old.

I'm sorry, I dont want to rain on your paraide but at the same time i want you to be preared for the likely outcome

Sadly with piggies, coming from the same litter means little to nothing.
