Its taken this long to write this as its taken time for me to stop feeling guilty over them (I only got their ash's back this week)
At the start of September, I found a mass on Ashie as I was giving her a trim. Around to the vets and it was a case of whether to operate (vet didn't want to chance it due to her age (nearly 6) or put to sleep or let it go until she is in pain/suffering. Ashie was in good spirits and still eating and drinking with a gusto, so I kept my eye on her and made sure she had very soft hay and best of things for her.
On the 27th of September, upon waking my girls up and giving them their breakfast, Nixxie, Ashie's daughter was acting un-nixxie like. No messing around, I pack them both together and get them around to the vet for when it opens. Had to leave her to be scanned and x-rayed, with me calling to find out at mid-day what was wrong. Unfortunately, Nixxie had a problem with her Liver and it was leaking into her abdomen. I made the decision that it would be best to let her be put to sleep and to do the same with her mum Ashie with her tumor.
So ends the tale of Ashie (nearly 6) and her daughter Nixxie (4 and 2 months), run free with Ghostie (2) over the rainbow bridge.
