Hi, so I was wondering if guinea pigs can eat bell pepper? And are there certain parts that they can/can't eat? Thank you!

They can eat Bell Pepper. Green is lowest in sugar so it's preferred, but yellow and red are ok too, just maybe don't feed those colors as often because they're higher in sugar. I always take out the seeds, stem, etc. I give each piggie a slice of pepper per day. It's a great source of vitamin C. Hope this helps!

Bell pepper is one that can be fed daily. I take out seeds and the stalk.

Mine love a bit of bell pepper! They prefer the green one to the other colours but will eat the others quite happily.

my piggies love bell pepper ! espically red u may find they like some colours more than others they can also be fed daily

They can eat the seeds and stem. I am just careful not to give any seeds/stem that looks older and not white. They rather like the insides!

We hate green peppers. So the piggies eat them for us. I'm not keen on any peppers so they occasionally get red or yellow/orange because I rarely use a full one. I definitely eat more peppers now we have them every week for them.

The girls love pepper of all colours, Pig on the other hand doesn't seem to like any pepper! Funny little pigs.

Mine will luckily eat all colours. Though I think they do lean slightly towards a preference for green.

Same here. The only way I eat green peppers is if I have them sliced and roasted with onions, mushrooms and courgettes.

I always use to roast them! But with baby/plum tomatoes, onions and courgettes. Sometimes use to put in butternut squash or gnocchi. Roasted gnocchi is incredible for anyone who has never tried.

I now slice red pepper thinly in a bagel with hummus, cucumber and red onion. Cucumber is another thing I never chose to eat before piggies. Piggies eat the rest of the pepper and cucumber that I dont.

We're a house of foodies, so the piggies fit right in. 👍

We pan fry gnocchi in a little olive oil and butter until golden but not tried roasting 🤔

Soak in just boiled water for 10 minutes and then roast it (I think) for 10-15 minutes. Soft and chewy on the inside but crispy outside. Less oily than frying and easy to do if you're doing roast veg anyway as you just chuck it on top if the veggies. 👍

Mine eat bell peppers but they don't get the stalk or seeds. They don't actually eat the stalk - but I read that's not good for them anyway. I take out the seeds because George is greedy and bolts his food so they tend to get stuck in his throat and he makes this awful 'death rattle' choking noise that used to really freak me out. It's always him! So now I scrape off the seeds for everyone but they like the softer white bit which the seeds are actually attached to so they get that.

They can eat them, they're high in vitamin C, which is good for them! I only give the fleshy part, not the seeds or stem. Some of my pigs have really liked bell pepper, others are less impressed about them and hold out for something they like more!
