Junior Guinea Pig
I haven't been on here in a while and the last time I was I had happy news about my new pig Benji who got on really well with George and I was expecting them to stay together for the rest of their lives. Sadly, Benji was ill for a couple of weeks with breathing difficulties and was on lots of different antibiotics and anti-inflammatories. He was to be taken to the vet for the third time to see what else we could do for him but when I checked on him in the morning he had died during the night. It was absolutely heart breaking, I only had him for a couple of months but he was so sweet and George clearly loved him. Poor George was lying on him and was so distressed when I had to remove him. He ran around for days, biting the bars like he did when Benji was first brought home and George knew he was there but couldn't get to him. When I had him out of his cage he would start squeaking when he caught his smell in the air. Benji's death has obviously hit him harder than Borris' did. I'm so paranoid that I'm doing something wrong because Borris died of a similar thing but I can't think of anything that could have caused it, I must just be unlucky
George has been on his own for a couple of weeks and I have finally managed to find another pig. I should be picking up a little guy called Theo this week and hopefully he will get on with George as well as Benji did. Sorry for such a long paragraph but the last month has been quite eventful! I'll miss Benji falling asleep on my lap and licking my fingers.
