i lost jessie - my 15 year old 3 legged lurcher on 25th march last year. for two weeks i struggled to deal with the loss of her. i felt like something inside me died when she died. i have lost lots of pets over the years but losing jessie hurt so much. i have another dog - pip - but nothing could help me get over losing jess. then my oh told me to get in the car as we were off to stoke on trent. he was letting me fetch a cavachon puppy. i was so excited but also felt somewhat guilty for feeling happy when i had lost jessie.
benjy, my new pup made such a difference. he took so much hurt away after losing her and gave me so much pleasure. i'm sure jessie would have loved him if she had been able to meet him. she definitely would have approved of him. he is a little darling.

Love is a like a river that needs to flow to not got stale - Benjy hasn't taken anything away from Jessie, but he has kept alive your ability to love.

Jessie will always be there as an integral part of your life, like Benjy will be that of another part!

I'm so very sorry. Its hurts so bad when our furries leave us, but they will never leave your heart........Run free at the bridge with all the other doggies....

Aww, that's a lovely story. It is very hard when you lose a pet, I still get sad thinking about my dog who I lost in July last year :( just think of all the wonderful times you had with her! Both of them look like lovely pooches!

It is so hard to get over losing a loved one. I am still in pain each day from losing Marble in Feb.

You never fully recover from the loss of a loved one, you just find a new kind of normal. Benjy will never fill the hole left by Jessie but he'll help your heart heal. x x

No dog can ever replace a loved one that has gone to the bridge but they can certainly find their way into your heart.
They start to bring love and light back to your life.
God bless all our dogs, both at the bridge and here with us. :)
