If it's not one thing, it's another with this boy! He just keeps scratching away at himself...using his leg, first one side and then the other, he's turning round and nipping at his back and then he's doing the same on his sides. I've checked him over and there are no signs of flakiness or redness. Can't see any lice. Am I looking at mites?

I don't want him getting stressed so want to sort him out! Plus, he's making me itch!

It may be mites,
you cant see mites, my piggy has mites at the moment =[ and it got really sore and scabby really quickly. Keep an eye on him and if * start seeing sores, take him to the vet asap, before it becomes any worse :)

ermm well the first visit, i got some baytril and they gave them Invermec, That cost around £40 :o BUT..that was for 2 piggies (my other piggy had it slightly aswell but not as bad as maisy)
And today i had to go back so they could get there next dose of Invermec and that cost £ 9.00
They need to go back for one more visit in a week for one more dose, however if it has not cleared up then they may need to go back again rolleyes.

but remember mine was for two piggies, so i gather it should be much less for just one piggy as I'm having double the treatment rolleyes
Plus if you got to the vets asap you may not need the medicine they gave me, the vet may just give him Invermec.
(unfortunatley i was not able to catch it before it got worse as i was on holiday)
