She was a lovely guinea pig, we all miss her very much. Berry would keep getting a uri which we took her to the vet for multiple times however it took me a bit of begging to get her and the others out the cold garage. Whenever she would beat a uri another one would come and it would keep getting worse, I wasn’t in when she died but according to my mum her back legs where paralysed and blood come out of her nose she started have something like a seizure and died 10 seconds later. Does anyone know what that might have been sorry if my family seems horrible for not getting her to the vet but we took her about 4 times and the bills were adding up and she died so suddenly we didn’t have enough time to take her for a fifth time. We have buried her with her sister cherry and fluffy and wonder miss her very much she was such a character and I will post a tribute soon.😭

I’m so sorry you have lost your piggie. I once had a hamster that died suddenly like that many years ago when I was about 9, I’m now 60. He had a seizure and blood came out of his nose, he was on his wheel at the time and his back legs went floppy too. We took him to the vets straight away, sadly he had died on the way, we described what had happened and he said he had a stroke.
I hope this might help you, it’s sounds very similar x

I am very sorry that you lost Berry.
Please be kind to yourself and remember that even with the best care our guinea pigs do not always live for as long as we would like them to.
It sounds like you did everything possible for Berry and she clearly received all of the necessary vet care for her health problems.

I am far from an expert but I tend to agree with @Bill & Ted - what you are describing sounds like a massive stroke and even if you had rushed to the vets it is unlikely she could have been saved.

Take time to grieve for her and remeber that she was loved and cleary had a good life with you and your family.

I know the feeling, my little guy Broly passed this past Wednesday (4/3/19) ... This past week has just been a blur. He had surgery Monday to remove a very very tiny non cancerous tumor. He was fine that evening, following morning, he was ok, we made sure he had plenty of food, got home around 430pm cst, he was walking around slowly as we were told he would be ... 630pm cst, I check on him and he’s laying by his water bottle, 730om cst, I see him again and he’s in his house, so I bring his cage closer to the bed to watch him more. 815pm cst, I hear and see him dragging himself out of his house, he was unable to use his back legs, and he collapsed down, unable to pick his head up ... we rushed him to the vet, they admitted him overnight ... the Vet called in the morning that he’s only made slight improvements, but not enough to be discharged. 11am, the vet calls that he isn’t eating and is being forced fed with a syringe and is rejecting all foods. 12pm, vet says his sugar levels are dangerously low and she wants to keep him another night. 12:15pm, she calls back to say he’s taken a turn for the worse, so I rushed out of work to be with him and he passed moments before I got there.
So, I’m not sure how he pissed or what caused it. He was fine Monday night, and gone just 30hrs later.
