I give a 1ml syringe every few hours as required @helen105281.
Thank you .It sounds like this vet is much more on the ball. Keeping my fingers crossed that the lumps are treatable.
Sorry to hear this - has she been spayed at all ? just wondering as I have a great exotics vet who could feel Noodles ovarian cysts where as my usual vet couldn't - if it is ovarian cysts a spay done by an experienced exotic vet is usually quite straight forward and there is less chance of an abscess developing than with a neuter on a boar - I also have a 5 year old sow who is covered in lumps under her belly - but this has been tested and she is simply an old lady laying down fat cells - hopefully all will be fine - big hug to you x
I will wait for the vet to discuss blood results- I can discuss Cystese with him.Have you considered Cystese capsuals?lf if l remember corectly they somtimes slow down the prosses
Yes, it sounds suggestive of ovarian cysts Lisa. I have had piggies lose some weight with these but remain well. Have they checked her urine as its very common to have associated urinary problems x
I believe Cystease is for bladder conditions & recurrent UTIs which I am not sure will help in your case unless your piggie has been diagnosed with them? Ovarian cysts can cause bloatedness/gas but what concerns me most is the possible slow down of her gut if the vet said she had a lot of faeces still inside her gut? If that's the case yhen I would have expected the Exotics vet to have started her on gut motility meds already xI will wait for the vet to discuss blood results- I can discuss Cystese with him.
Vet said gut looked good - i.e. plenty of signs she is eating foods with fibre. He didn't feel she was overloaded with faeces. I will discuss this with the vet at Bess's next consultation - which will be when the blood results come back.I believe Cystease is for bladder conditions & recurrent UTIs which I am not sure will help in your case unless your piggie has been diagnosed with them? Thank you Tim .Sorry to read that you are having such a rough time with Bess lately my dear
I hope you can quickly get to the bottom of her illness promptly. In the meantime, plenty of snuggles! Huge hugs hun![]()
Just a regular dipstick to look for signs of infection, glucose and blood. I always test my piggies urine if they lose weight. I can test a sample if you bring one next week xShe's had blood tests so assume this will screen for necessary.
I am happy to take a urine sample in - what would you advise it is tested for ?

Thank you - I've just been watching her tuck into her supper - as happy as ever.Hi I haven't seen this thread for a while. I'm really pleased to hear the latest vet thinks Bess isn't in any discomfort. I know that helps you even if the weight loss hasn't yet been explained. It's always a worry when something seems wrong with a piggie but you are doing everything you can to get it resolved for both you and Bess. Hope the bloods results clear the mystery up. x
Vet thinks tumour is in her liverOh no I am sorryI suppose there is a chance it is a benign tumour though? And a biopsy would confirm that? If it was in her womb & that was removed she could make a good chance of recovery x
