Hi there.
Can anybody tell me if Simon Maddock is the best vet for this?He is in northampton and we are in sidcup?Trying to sort out a jaw abcess and would like some recccomendations please:)

Thankyou

Sorry I wasn't able to respond to you properly earlier, but I was helping my daughter move house, but just wanted to make sure I gave you Simon's contact phone no.

Simon is a fantastic guinea pig vet (one of the very best in the country). He's worked wonders with the many dental piggies I have in my sanctuary. Wilfie has recently suffered from a huge and deep jaw abscess, and although we have had a couple of blips, we now seem to be back on track again.

I would definitely recommend you come and see him. You're also very welcome to come and meet my dental piggies and have a cuppa whilst you are in Northampton.

Thankyou so much for the replies:)

We have booked an appointment for next sat as simon is away at the moment.Ruby has had this for the last 8weeks,lanced 3 times and surgical removal but still she is eating the smallist amounts possible and not herself. We just want her to be back on track now.Although the pus and abcess looks as though it is cleared up her jaw bone looks huge!I have 4 rescue pigs and ruby is a treasure.Lets hope simon can see whats going on...Does he do dental work without ga as i would prefer that.:)Thanks for the kind invite but we are also taking our giant house rabbit to save another long journey but lets see what happens:) Thanyou

I am glad you've been able to get an appointment with Simon. Yes he's been on holiday this past week and is back in work from Monday.

Generally he does all his dental work without GA. Very occasionally he's needed to use GA, but it's not the norm. He's worked wonders with my dental guys and he's so knowledgeable about piggies.
