Due to unexpectedly taking in a stray guinea pig i was wondering what is the best type of dry food to feed him please? I'll be going to the pet shop tomorrow to see what I can get for him.

I use Burgess Excel pellets, but Wagg (Harringtons) can sometimes be a bit cheaper and are also good. Pellets are better than muesli as they prevent selective feeding.

Definately Burgess Excell nuggets.
My Piggys used to have the muesli type food and did leave a lot, now they love their nuggets and I know they are better for them :)

Ok thank you both, I'll get some of the nuggets. Should they be limited?

Assuming you don't intend to keep this piggie, if youve got a range store near you, they sell small (250g or something) bags of nuggets by supreme pet foods. These are one of the best, on a par with burgess but without the need to buy a 2kg bag (smallest burgess size).

Given the weight you gave on the other thread, I'd say feed unlimited.

Thank you. I don't have a Range store, but am going to my local store that has small bags of feed so will see what here is. No I'm not keeping him - my son asked what we are going to call him but I told him we aren't! It's much harder once you give them a name :(
