Hi everyone,

Apologies if this subject has already been covered - just wondered if anyone has got suggestions as to what would be the most suitable indoor housing for 2 boars, I've been to Pets at Home and they recommended the Nero 4.

thanks in advance
Jo

I like the Nero cages - would think that Nero 4 would be fine and you can get stands for them now too. O0

inside our shed we have happyhutch 6fts but i was tempted to try c&c cube cages.

If you go to our rescue website www.lbgpr.co.uk under photo albums there are quite a few pics of people's indoor housing, many of them from people on this forum. Hopefully it will give you some ideas.

I have a purpose built cage very much like a nero 4 and the rest are c & c's and I much prefer the c & c cages. They are cheap and you can make almost any shape/combo of cage you lke. Have a look here for ideas : www.cavycages.com

Grids can be bought in larger b & q stores (check ahead) or screwfix.com. My cages are on summerleazes website and I was lucky I got a lot of the grids on ebay for 99p :D

I have two idoor cages and they're made out of c&c. I love my cages, they're open top so my piggies run up to see me when I go over :smitten: Obviously if you've got cats/dogs etc that wont work but if you haven't I highly reccomend it O0

I'd recommend the C&C cages too, you can make them as big as you want and it all depends on how creative you want to be. You can make stands and extra levels and allsorts. Great value too. Mine probably cost almost the same as a nero 3 and its at least twice as big. B&Q are selling the grids now as well so it would just be the correx you'd have to find.

You can get correx from Travis Perkins builders merchant for £5 per 8 foot x 4 foot sheet :D
Youre all sorted now ;D

My two girls live together very happily in a Nero 4, and my boar on his own in a Nero 3. They all reside in our living room!

Hi guys,

A massive thanks for taking the time to reply and opening my eyes to the different possibilities for indoor housing. am loving the C&C cages!

summerleaze - your website is great and the other half has got loads of inspiration from your photos of cages, he's already planning how many different sections there's going to be in the cage! I really like the fact you can add/extend it. We've only just got our two little boys and bought them a large hutch from P@H, but have decided that we want them to be kept in the house. I'll keep the hutch though, as I work a lot with rescue animals (cats & dogs) doing Tellington Touch, but can easily see us rehoming some rescue piggies in the future, just need to find out which rescue centres in Derbyshire rehome them.

thanks again
Jo

Thaks Jo, would love to see piccies when you've finished, perhaps I could post them on my site too?

(Totally off topic, am delighted someone else is involved with TT, I'm not a practitioner but have used it a few times on my animals, amazing. I'm currently working on a very very scared piggy with terrible scurvy, she's responding well. For anyone who has any emotional/behavioural issies with ANY animal it's worth giving it a try - google Tellington Touch. I'm a real fan)

Hi Summerleaze,

Will happily take some photos when finished (although will be a few weeks away yet) and you can definitely put them on your website.

TTouch is brilliant, am half way through the practitioner training course (still 1.5yr to go) and can honestly say it does get brilliant results, esp good for rescue animals, many of who are already really frightened. Sounds like you're doing a great job with your scared piggy, she's lucky to have you. Anytime you want to talk about TT, just give me a shout!

Jo
