Hiya,

I’ve not treated my girls for mites for a bit and wanted to treat them. I don’t think they’ve got anything, they’re not scratching or anything. But I feel like they’re due a spot on “just in case”.

I know pets at home do one called Beaphar but I’ve seen people say before it’s not very good.

What do you guys use or what would you suggest?

I don’t think treating for something they don’t have is a good idea. It could render any treatments ineffective if they do get mites in the future.
No treatment you can buy in a pet shop is good enough to treat mites anyway. Getting medication from a vet is always the best way.

First see a vet, then if they have mites prescription Xeno 450 or Xeno 50 for smaller piggies is good. But only if one of your pigs has a clinical case of mites or lice with hair loss and sore skin- dont treat on the off chance, and get any bald sore patches checked first by the vet in case its ringworm which needs an antifungal treatment!
