Best Nuggets? - Want To Switch

Oreo is currently fed on a mixture of both Burgess nuggets (mint mixed with blackcurrant and oregano). I want to switch pellets though, to something better. I am not too sure which would be best for him. He has had bloat in the past, so maybe a grain-free nugget? I am deliberating between Rosewood Pellets and Oxbow's Cavy Cuisine. I have a local pet shop that I think stocks both - definitely Cavy Cuisine though. What would be better? I haven't got tons of money to throw around on pellets and would only like a small bag (2kg is ideal) since I only have Oreo.

There isn't a specific reason really on why I want to switch since Oreo loves Burgess but I feel it might be better to put him on a better quality pellet. I have heard great things about the Oxbow and Rosewood nuggets which is why I'm specifically considering them.

Could anyone give me a link to where I could order the Rosewood food from?

I don't know about rosewood pellets because we dont get them here but my piggies are currently on oxbow cavy cuisine, I'm only just switching them over from the oxbow young pellets (whatever they call them) but they like the cavy cuisine so much that after just three days transitioning them over they just have the cavy cuisine now. I dont think they are grain free though.
 
My two came to me on the Burgess, and I've added Rosewoods and the JR grain free ones in. I bought the Rosewoods one from PAH.

Ok thank you :). I'm assuming they really enjoy them, since you had such a short transition period.

Do they enjoy the Rosewood pellets? My logic is if a guinea pig who likes Burgess (like Oreo) also likes Rosewood, Oreo may like it too.

Here are the rosewood meadow menu pellets which I give my guineapigs and they LOVEE IT I really recommend as it is grain free and cold pressed mean it has all natural nutrients!
I also found this pellets in amazon which is convenient if you need them sooner and you can't go out!

Thank you for the link - I've found them on Amazon :). They sound really good. It's good to find nuggets your pigs enjoy.

I think I will weigh up the nutrition and make a choice or combine both together :).
 
Yes, mine like them - and they find that size much easier to eat than the small size of the Burgess ones as well.
 
I ordered him the Rosewood nuggets as I can't afford to buy £20 worth of nuggets at the moment in case he doesn't like them. I will be checking the price of Cavy Cuisine in my local pet shop though, for future reference.

Definitely try a small bag of what ever...i bought oxbow cavy cuisine and mine won't touch it!

I've tried cavy cuisine and burgess and we ended up back with Asda and Harringtons! Fussy pigs x
