This is the only hay any of the pet shops sell around here and so far in it there have been bin bags, jaggy nettles that have cut my fingers and bits of 'hay' that look more like something off of a tree. Does anyone else get this hay? ?

if I was you, I would not endager your piggies OR your fingers, and try to get the petshops to order something else in... if they refuse, Id just order over the internet.

Also, write a complaint to the company who produces that hay.

I was thinking about writing a complaint. The guy in the petshop said he was surprised there was bits of a bin bag in the hay.

Yes definately complain, we get big bales of locally produced hay and are never unlucky enough to get any of that in it.

I have been using BestPets hay for a while and found it really good (fresh / green / herby smelling). I think you may have bought hay from a 'bad batch'. I always have a good look at the hay through the bag before I buy it.

I also buy Wilkinsons hay, and Pets At Home Timothy Hay, and found those good also.

As hay is a natural product, it goes without saying that some of it will not be as good at times. Always check it before you buy.

I look through all the packs and ever one I have bought has something jaggy in it
