Sorry I know this must get posted regularly, but what’s the best vegetables, vitamin c wise, to feed after peppers? My boys now won’t touch green peppers because they must have got bored of having them so regularly. I’ve heard broccoli can cause bloat & as the one is only 6 weeks I’m concerned he might be more prone to this being so small. Then carrots I heard are high in sugar and spinach, rocket & watercress can cause bladder stones? I do feed broccoli, carrots & spinach etc but only in very small quantities so I need something else to bulk up their daily veg. I bought some celery but haven’t fed it too them yet because I heard reports that they can choke on the strings of it? They love cucumber but I don’t think it’s particularly high in vitamin c. I’ve been given a small bag of readi grass which they seem to love. Does this count as vitamin c & can they have it daily? I’ve read the list of safe veg here Edible And Forbidden Veg And Fruit List With Vitamin C Grading which is helpful but I couldn’t seem to find a lot of this when I went shopping (eg coriander, parsley, pea shoots). Am I looking in the wrong place or do only certain supermarkets stock these foods? I looked in Asda & Aldi but couldn’t find any

You should be able to get coriander in Asda. They have a fresh herbs section which sells herbs in pots and cut herbs ( I get the cut herbs).

Pea Shoots aren't on sale all year round - so please keep a look out for these.

I notice it says " collard" greens on the link. These are more commonly known as " spring greens" ( and fresh greens in Tesco Results for “Fresh greens” - Tesco Groceries). Please only give a 1" strip of greens per pig (morning and evening is OK) as they are quite high in calcium and too much can also give bloat. Another alternative is kale.

The best alternative in Summer is grass - please introduce gradually so your guineas' tummies can get used to it. - and make sure the grass is free from pesticides and dog wee.

Another alternative is dandelion leaves - but these shouldn't be fed too often.

Thank, I’ll have to look for the fresh herbs section. I don’t eat much fruit & vegetables myself so am pretty clueless when it comes to finding these things!

Unfortunately I don’t have any grass in my garden, however I think I’m going to buy some readigrass as they seem to really love that

You could always buy some seed trays, a bit of compost and some grass seeds and grow some grass on your windowsill yourself. It doesn't take long till its long enough to cut and give to your piggies Shelled Warriors Shop | Tortoise are good for seeds and I have had seeds from them in the past.

I give my Finn cilantro and parsley in addition to his daily lettuce, spinach, carrot, and kale.
He really loves cilantro and parsley more than others so he eats these two faster than all the others. I feed cilantro by hand just so we can bond, then I put the rest in his dish with the rest of the veggies.

I wouldn't feed spinach or carrot daily if I were you .
