Hi!

My two boars are now close to 4 months... I want to do what i can to keep them living togheter through teenage period. They do get on eachother nervs every now and then.. Nothing serious.

I now have a cage 160 * 60 cm with two hideys next to eachother in one end and Hay area in the other..

I was Thinking about adding an extension of 40 * 60 cm.. And maybe put one hidey in each end of the long cage and also make an Hay area in each end. So that they can have their own place away from eachother if they want. In the middle there will be 120 cm of Free area with some tunnels and so on.

Would it be a good Idea to do this, or could it maybe start fights if they get more territorial with this kind of setup? What do you think?

That sounds like a great idea. The more space boars can have, the better. They will love the extra space. And offering 2 hay areas means no one can hog both at once. As for hideys, if you have room, then a third is a good idea so there is one each and one spare for choice (ie not “yours” or “mine”). I’m sure they will love this new set up.

Hi! Giving each boy their own area is a good idea.

Here are tips on what you can do to minimise any any upsets with cage adaptions (chapter 'boarsonalising' in section III)

Finaly the cage is extended.. now with two areas with all they need :-)
(160+100) * 40 cm.
They seem to like it.
Hope it will keep them from falling out during theese teenage times....

That looks really great
It’s so lovely to hear you planning and preparing for their teenage months.
They’re very lucky boys

That’s a great space for them, boars do appreciate space to be on their own at times x
