A few months back my oldest Guinea Pig passed away leaving me with only one left. Since she is 3 years old and I am getting older I don't want to get another Guinea Pig, but I know it can be stressful for Guinea Pigs to be alone. So I am wondering what are the best ways I can bond with her and try to make her less lonely from not having another Guinea Pig?

That's a tricky situation, because we as hoomans can never replace another guinea pig as a friend.

We had a lone piggy due to ill health at one point and we made sure we hand fed her and when she was happy enough had her out for lap times

We have a detailed advice thread on single piggies here Single Guinea Pigs - Challenges and Responsibilities

It's a tough one because at 3, she is still quite young and may end up spending literally half her life alone, should she live to be 6 or 7, as many pigs do. If there's any possibility of introducing another guinea pig, or a similar age or 'on loan' from a rescue, I would consider that. If this is absolutely not an option for you, I think as much lap time and interaction as you can possibly give her is really important. Best wishes and I hope you find a solution!

I had the same situation a few years back and my lone guinea pig turned out to be much happier on her own (she had been bullied before I got her and she and her man friend were more cage mates than soul mates). But I also had ones that moped after their partner died and I instantly knew they needed guinea pig friends. There are plenty of other three or four year old pigs out there needing a home, so you wouldn’t have to start all over with a baby again. I guess it’s just giving your pig lots of love and cuddles and watching their behaviour to see if they are sad/depressed or okay.

Could you foster other piggies?
I’m not sure if the criteria or how it works but maybe somebody could tell you
