I am gutted that I have lost yet another of my piggies so totally unexpectedly! Betsan was around 5 1/2 years old.

Sadly I found Betsan this morning with a mouthful of hay still sticking out of her mouth; she must have been felled by heart attack right out of the blue early in the morning.

Betsan (formerly Boots) has come here pretty much a year ago as the last standing member of a local friend's long term group, who got her from the free-ads.

Betsan was a timid, gentle and totally non-aggressive soul with a good complaining voice. Once I could explain to her that she was welcome and loved by me, we got on very well and even the hated nail cutting went quickly and smoothly!

The start of their relationship - snuggling up together in a cosy...
She was the one my dumped ex-single Beryn finally clicked with. I knew I was onto something when the two peacefully shared a cave on the chair for half an hour without WWIII breaking out! It took Beryn a little longer to work through her social deficits and fear-agression in order to be able to live with Betsan but that spark was always there and grew into a true friendship.

When cage cleaning took too long!

Betsan and Beryn on the right when new bereaved Nye was doing a bit of speed dating with my sow pairs to figure out which he was vibing with best for first introductions.

Betsan's cute 'rocket on fire' bum!

Preferring to hide, as always!
In fact, the two became very closely bonded and inseparable. Betsan taught Beryn the niceties of social interaction while Beryn provided Betsan with a broad back she could hide behind.

My last picture of the two free-roaming, taken only a couple of days before Betsan's death.
Beryn is missing her first and best friend badly today! So am I!
