We use "cores" at work for winding PVC onto & as i've just got a load of samples in of HDPE plastic ones (is this a safe plastic for guineas? it's damn solid) to replace the thick card ones we use currently. Occurs to me they might be fun for guineas but thought i'd see if there was any advice on smallest, biggest or otherwise size or construction recommendations before i try & take some home for any piggies i may get.

As i'm waffling hopefully a picture will paint a better er picture, although maybe not with my shakey hand camera phone attempt, so these any good?:

they look even wider than that card one you have at the front - is that the one you're using now? If so then yep they look fine.

sorry when i say using now i mean in the manufacturing process not on pigs as i dont have any as yet but when playing with them at work i did think oh piggy possibility.......

Would they be better cut down from the metre in length thou or just as much if not more fun being so long? Just being paranoid they'd be a sod to get out of a long tube if so desired?

The internal diameter on the plastic ones is actually 2mm wider at 104mm vs 102mm for the card one

Yep I would cut them down, while they might be fun for pigs being so long, they could be a pain to get out, also I find mine sit in the middle of the tube and won't allow others to go through, causing a traffic jam ;D

They look great. Give them a try, only thing is if your piggies love plastic as much as mine, that wouldnt be good. My lot chew anything!
