It's a big day for Ellie tomorrow as she is going dating at a rescue in Surrey. She lost her friend Terk a couple of weeks ago and we thought she would bond with the herd but Ellie had other ideas. So tomorrow she will be meeting a neutered boar called Barley and we will see what happens. There are others to try if they don't like each other.

Good Luck Ellie! Hope Barley becomes your huspig soon :D (or one of the other piggies the rescue has in store for you :D) . Good luck Helen x

Good Luck little Ellie ( little beauty x) )Hope all goes well Helen x

Meet Barley from Animal Lifeline rescue in Sutton. Bonding went well, Ellie was a bit nervous and froze to the spot to start with but did move eventually. She has shown him who's boss from the beginning though and nips him if he humps her too much, though tonight that has turned into squeaking loudly until he goes away. She is letting him eat with her though so that's good and am hoping over the next few days once he calms down a bit she will mellow. Have only seen her chatter once and it was very quiet and no sign of flying lunges. I think it is just that she isn't used to a boar. Her behaviour with him is much better than with the herd.

He is a year old and was rescued as part of a group of 7 boars and they were bullying him (you can see old wounds) and he is only 847g. He's happy though and has been popcorning round the cage all evening though he has passed out now. I think he's a teddy.

Gorgeous boy indeed... :))drool We can see why he's popcorning he's got a Wifepig now.. ;)

What a little cutie! Nerys and Nesta are very envious... x)

Glad that Ellie is very happy again, too, with having a husboar she can boss around.

Just caught up on this thread! Sorry.

He is gorgeous, hope all is going well. Love the on the shoulder photos Pirate Piggie drool x)

Well little Barley is not quite as little now, he was 890g last night so is gaining weight which is good. He is a happy little man, and loves being with the girls now they are a quartet (see other thread if you have no clue what I am on about). Ellie seems to have mellowed slightly too as I think she appreciates having the others there to take some of the heat off her.

Here he is asleep for all of about 30 seconds then he was off again.

Last night he settled down on me for ages and even curled up and went to sleep briefly. He's a cuddly little pig, really presses himself into you.

aw bless him, he's such a cutie :D i love how snuggled he looks x) i just want to pick him up and snuggle him myself x)

Well our little man went to piggy clinic today for a check over. Turns out he is not underweight but the perfect weight for his age which is around 6 months (we were told he was a year old) and he is a rex crossed with a Swiss. He is in perfect health and was good as gold. He did make us laugh though as he was put back in the carrier as Ellie was taken out and spent the next few minutes rumbling, squeaking and looking for her until we took him back out and put him on the examination pillow next to her and he snuggled into her then and relaxed.

Oh and he has the hugest back feet ever so is going to be big when he is fully grown. Today he is 944g.
