Bill is having a snuggle!

He is gorgeous. I think some go darker and some go lighter with age. Not having seen 5 year old Peanut for a few days I was shocked to see how he had aged this afternoon. He has a very light muzzle, patches round his eyes and on top of his head, he always had light bits but now they are very pronounced. Very much like a dog ages, I felt quite tearfull when I saw him. My OH pointed out that in the last few weeks he's lost his life long friend, moved house and got a new house mate, enough to age anyone!

Aw, yes, he’s had a rough time of it for an old chappie! Hope he settles with his new housemate x
Bill is looking like one of those old collie dogs, I’m sure he has far more white patches on his face now!

They make him look distinguished 😊. Not just any guinea pig can carry off that look.

He’s still a most handsome boar.
Jemimah would like to point out that, as she too will be 5 in the spring, that Bill is not old - merely distinguished
Bill sends his love and kisses to the ever so beautiful Jemimah 😍🥰😍😘😘💕❤️💕

Jess has changed over the years too, was shocked that I hadn’t noticed as she’s been here a while! Put the pics on another thread- her in early 2015 (roughly 2)

So much darker! But mega-cute as always 😍

It’s only when we look back we see the changes as they happen so gradually.
Like humans the piggies grow into their characters and that is reflected in their looks.
I think that just get more gorgeous with passing of time
You are so right, they definitely grow into their character x

Meet Keziah, Jemimah’s sister

As you see her colouring is very distinct where Jemimah’s is muted.
Sadly we lost Keziah to a tumour nearly 2 years ago.
Apparently Jemimah was the only teddy.
Teddies are just very cute, fuzzy piggies
I didn’t realise Teddy’s can have short haired siblings! Keziah had beautiful markings 💕

And they appear randomly in a litter, or so it seems. So sorry you lost Keziah 😥. You never forget them though, even though they aren't around any more. They all leave a special pawprint on our hearts 💕

Same as Bill and Ted, they are 5 in March too, we got them at four weeks old x
Jemimah is a beauty 💕
We should have an online forum birthday party for them.
Jemimah’ birthday is 24th March - I have her birth certificate.
She and Keziah were about 8 - 10 weeks old when I got them

Not quite on topic now, but.... Bill's snuggle. Is it an actual guinea pig snuggle bed? My pigs are outdoor pigs and their new hutch is arriving tomorrow (sooo excited!). I'm mulling over getting a snuggle of some kind for them to try. They always have loads of hay in their bed and a log cabin hideaway downstairs with hay in it for when they want to watch the world go by. I just don't know where to start to buy them something cosy 🤷🏻‍♀️. Not wanting to shell out a lot of money if they don't use or like it. The cost of their hutch plus two covers plus vinyl to cover their floor is becoming a bit expensive so soon after Christmas 😬

Keziah was a beautiful piggy in character as well as looks.
She died a few days after you joined the forum.
I suppose it depends on ancestry and who the parents were but Jemimah was the only teddy in the litter I was told.
