Billiam in pain - cystitis?

Give your boy time; the funny poos are due to the meds and the op; they will normalise when the wounds start healing up and the guts are working again.

Make sure that Billiam is having probiotics with his baytril. It can take time for his scarred bladder to calm down. If you haven't got any, you can mush up the pellets of other healthy piggies and syringe him those. The bacteria in ther will help kick start his digestive system. Reconvalescing piggies often do this themselves, eating poo right from another's piggy bum!

Just give your boy time; it usually takes a couple of days for the body to settle and start healing after an op, but once a piggy starts healing, it is remarkably quickly!

I'm sorry I'm posting so often, I hope it's not annoying anyone.

I was giving Bill his meds and some water, popped him back into his cage where he tried to have a wee and he squealed. I couldn't believe it. He's straining just as much as he was before his surgery which was 5 days ago, still soiling himself and his dribbly wees are bloody again.

I would hate to think I've put him through surgery for nothing, I just want a pain free life for him in his golden years. It breaks my heart thinking I've made him suffer more. Hopefully the vet will know what to do, we are due to take him back for his post-op check-up in a few days.

I've started adding pro-biotics to his water so that should help with the sloppy poops.
