I'm so sorry. This must be heart-wrenching for you. It sounds as if your boy was ready to go but that doesn't make the decision any less painful.

Goodnight little Billy. :rose

sorry to hear Billy has gone to the bridge. I've been through the same thing as you and it's absolutely awful it was a very dark time in my life and took me over 2 years to feel confident enough to get a pig again.
However you have willow to look after and she will be really missing him in my opinion you should pair her up at a rescue asap. I know it's difficult for you but it's for the best for her and we'll try and find you a guinea savvy vet so you feel better. Big hugs to you and your family at this awful time x x x

OMG i'm so so sorry to hear about little Billy 8...8...8...
RIP Billy run free at the bridge, popcorn thru the lush green meadows and enjoy munching on the dandelions and fresh green grass, you'll be so very sadly missed by your family but NEVER forgotten xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Another little star now twinkling in the sky ............ :(

Thank you all so much for your kind words and thought...it has really helped! It was very emotional we buried him in the garden this evening..:( Willow seems surprisingly ok but we are not sure what we will do now:{

BIG HUG

It is not an easy time, but you will have to think about Willow's own needs.

If she is not elderly, it would not be fair to leave her on her own for the rest of her life. The best way to make her happy would be to find a reputable rescue where you can take her for some piggy dating, so she can choose her new friend for herself. No new piggy will ever take the place of a previous one; they all build their own nest in our hearts in due time. It is not an easy step when you are emotionally not ready, but you are doing it for Willow and will in time come to love the newbie for its own merits.

I have found that looking for a new friend for my own bereaved piggies has helped me to cope with my grief because it gave me something positive to do even though I myself was hurting so much. But the transformation in my bereaved piggy when it suddenly had company again was always worth it and I could start cherishing a newbie through the joy it brought.

If you really cannot bear the thought of losing another piggy sometime in the future, please consider rehoming Willow through a reputable rescue that will only rehome her to a good home with piggy company so she is not losing out.

Please keep weighing and checking her over once weekly to make sure that she is OK.
