Billy was neutered yesterday. He came home last night and we have given him some tlc today. Bit off his food so given some critical care and plenty fluids. He brighter this evening munching on some veg. His heat pad is in his bed and wound clean so i hope we are on the right track. Urine was bit dribbly this morning but he was swollen looks bit less this evening. Poops fine. Cant wait till he meets cindy x x

Best of luck! I hope that all goes well for him!

thats a really good price! i was ponderin getting terry did so he can live with my girls, he hates other boys :(

Yes, really hope he's back to his normal Self soon. On one hand I can't wait for mine to be done so he can live with girls but on other hand I'm anxious that it goes ok. Best piggy wishes :)

Hope he has a good recovery :) got my Frazzle neutered nearly 3 weeks ago and he seems to be doing fine.

Hi I had Yorkie neutered on Thursday and he is making a great recovery. I have been checking and cleaning his wound daily and changing his bedding daily and he is eating, drinking and pooping normally.
As for the price i paid £56.00. I had a previous pig neutered last year at a vets that offers cheaper treatments, but believe me i discovered the hard way that cheaper is not the best option as my pig obtained a post op infection that the same vets did not pick up on when i took him back. I took him to another vet and paid for more treatment and he unfortunately never recovered.
I would recommend that you ask around and find the better vet and dont let price be your main deciding factor.

Billy is ok x

Hello all my lovely friends
Sorry for late reply xx>>> just been busy at the rescue with arrivals and looking after Billy.
He was bit quiet over the weekend but has perked up with additional feeds and water. Is happily munching veg again and pooping fine.
He is on metacam and vit c supplement and had a post op check yesterday.
I cant wait till he meets cindy lou hoo in 4 weeks time !!
Wound looks ok he been bit dribbly with wee,but vet thinks its due to swelling.
If you are a rescue just remember to barter for a discounted price on your vet fees mine give me a 5% discount.
I will keep you posted about Billy
Helen

PHEW whee are all glad to hear Billy is ok :)
Sending some friendly girlie wheeeeeeeky loves to help him thru till he meets his darling Cindy xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Just curious - is it safe to move a neutered male in with a female after only 18 days post op? Looking at the thread dates if ive got it correct Billy was only neutered 18days ago - on the 4th March 2011 (sorry if ive got it wrong).

For the purpose of newer members who would be un-sure, i thought 6wks was the waiting time between op and introductions?

Aw this is all great news. Victor is going in next month for the op and i am a bit worried about it but i'm sure it will be worth it when he gets to meet his girls without a cage separating them! :)

The 6 week wait can be torture. When we had Dylan done I couldn't wait to try him with our two girls. It was six weeks to the day that I introduced them. That was two months ago and the three of them get on fine. We are pondering adding another sow but not sure about upsetting the apple cart atm;)
