Biscuit Has Collapsed

She has managed to injure her front leg. It looks like elbow. Doesn’t look broken but if not better will X-ray Monday.

A few months ago Beans injured her front leg twice in the space of 2 weeks. No idea how she done it but her paw was swollen and she couldn't really put her weight on it. Vet didn't think it was broken so I was advised to make the cage smaller and take out any ramps/toys that could injure her. Restricting her movement really helped to heal it along with Loxicom. Maybe try making the cage smaller to see if it helps? Poor pig :(

Oh poor honey! :soz: sending healing vibes for your little girl xx

I’ve popped her downstairs in the cage. She can’t move very far - unfortunately her back legs aren’t strong enough to hold her with just one front paw due to her age and general condition. I will rearrange the cage tonight so it’s all on one level. I’m stuck between trying to get her to move to stop her back legs seizing - when she climbed out of bed I panicked I thought she had a stroke as she was sliding along on her side - and keeping her still.

Try putting her on a bean bag that has been gentaly warmed in a microwave,
First put your wrist of the bag to make sure it's not to warm!
Then when her musculs are relaxed apply your thumb and index finger to her joint and apply light massage!
Hopefully this will encourage blood to the aria!
It can't do any harm and the gentle attention you are giving her should reasure her that she is not allow

NB run it past your vet first just to be on the safe side

Thank you all for your support over the past few weeks, I can't even put into words how much it has helped and kept me almost sane. At times I've doubted my sanity in doing this.

That said there have been good bits to getting Jet some pals, he is cuddled up with biscuit tonight which for both him and her was the intention.

She is still locusting, she is putting weight on the foot but not moving much at all. She is no longer yelping in pain which is suppose is better, I'm still worried about her, I'm worried it's not an injury but the cancer.

Oh dear does the wee soul have Cancer?
Sadly yes, which what led us into adding 3 pigs rather than one. We started with Jet who was depressed without Dozy (my avatar), I searched for over a month for a companion. On the day I called a local pet shop (with ties to a rescue) and asked them to get 2 little ones (because Jet has a tendency to be wonky for no reason I wanted 2 just in case), I was offered Biscuit, 6 years old and her pal had died. She arrived that weekend neglected full of lice and lumpy (which was later diagnosed as kidney cancer). She has had a couple of months of absolute love ❤️. We didn't cancel the little ones - which is what started the whole illness hell. To be honest she has loved every moment in with Jet and the babies. I find them waltons style 3 in a hide.

Thank you! I needed that, she has been out of th cage with us all evening and is starting to put weight on her front legs. Ive massaged Her legs and she looks brighter (that could be the attention and lack of Jet climbing over her).

Sending love, do you have any metacam in?
