Hey everyone,

A new symptom for Biscuit once again I'm afraid. There doesn't seem to be anything else wrong with him but he does seem to be developing a bit of a heasd tilt. It's not all the time and his balance seems ok but sometimes he will look straight at you and then his head will start to tilt to one side. Is this always a sign of an ear infection? Is it time to see the vet or could it be something else?

Thanks everyone x

I have no experience of head tilts but if this is something new and he's not done it before I'd say take him to the vet and get it checked out.

I'm not sure how relavent this is but Toffee has just been getting over an ear infection and she hasn't had a head tilt at all not even slightly...... so i dont think it is always a sign on ear infections though i don't know, a vet visit will put your mind at ease. Hope he is better soon. xx

Speaking from my own experience this last week with my Willow, I suggest you get to the vets today as piggies can deteriorate rapidly with this condition if not treated soonest (assuming it is an infection that is causing it). One other cause, not so serious/urgent could be ear mites..in which case ivermectin injections plus ear drops to clear the waxy gunk will be required. ..

Monitor him closely especially his poo ouput and weigh him. Make sure you have some critical care ec on standby...

Well done for noticing so early...hope it's easily sorted/nothing to worry about and Biscuit is back to his normal self soon

Right, thanks everyone. I think it's best to call his vet then. The world's most expensive piggy is about to add to ever-increasing vet bill.... :)

Thanks all. I'll keep you updated :)

awwwwwwwwwww no not Biscuit again :...

HEALING LOVING WHEEEEEEEEKS FOR YOU BISCUIT XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

yeah if any changes at any time with this little one i'd be on the phone and getting an appointment...... i think you're very wise to do so love xx>>>xx>>>

oh god poor Biscuit, when will it ever end?

Sending some vibes his way, really hope its just a little ear infection or something daft that can be cleared up easily.

Good luck x>>

Good that you are seeing a vet! Poor boy - once your immune system is down, you end up with a whole tail of problems!

Took Biscuit the vet last week just before we went on holiday. We're supposed to monitor him for any changes as the vet couldn't find anything after a pretty thorough check-up. She's not sure what to make of the infrequent tilt, it's not very frequent or regular at all.

Any way, he's still at the piggy hotel with Caramel 'til this afternoon when we pick him up so I'll be keeping a close eye on him for a while. Can't wait to see them both :)

Thanks for all your well wishes. Biscuit's just gonna be one of those piggies that is always susceptible to things I think but he's such a trooper and so much fun that you think, maybe he doesn't care if he keeps getting sick :)
