biscuits lump

my daughters piggy has got a lump about the size of a large pea on his butt, its hard and definalty not a cyst or abcess, it has got tiny blood vessels in it looks like, any ideas before he goes to the vets next week,
 
No idea really Michelle, some kind of growth though. Hope you manage to get to the bottom of it at the vets, and its nothing sinister.
 
spoke to my sis in law who was a vet nurse for 5 years and is hoping to get back in to it, (she moved from Essex to the Island and had to leave)
she thinks it a tumour, will see this week, but biccy had a hugh abcess removed about 18 months ago and recovered so well, bless him, will let you know
 
biccys got vets tomorrow hes got mr Phillips who is great he treated Charlie my dog before he died, let you know after visit whats going on with him fingers crossed
 
well the vet said as i thought not cyst or abcess but a skin lump its not cancerous and very mobile as he can get his finger behind it, but as its just had a growth spirt he thinks it needs removing as it has started to ulcerate, he said well I removed an abcess from biccys shoulder now he wants his butt done think he wants remodelling he is such a nice vet, hes booked in for thursday morning but we go away for a long weekend friday when I pick him up so am going to try to change his op tomorrow so I can be here for his after care, other wise Stuart my eldest is here and quite capable but i will worry while away.
 
just dropped the little man off at vets, sat cuddling him and he snuggled down between my boobs and went to sleep ahhhhh, one man in the surgery said I gather thats a male piggy ho hum, fingers crossed he will be ok, he is such a gentle natured piggy,
 
hes home, :) with a shaved butt and a few stitches Mr Beckingham did the op the senior vet as Mr Philips was ill, have been given fibreplex for 2 days to get his gut moving after the anesthetic has anyone else used this? its carrot flavour and in a tube that squeezes out a ml at a time, 3 times a day, but he has just demolished half a big carrot so wonder if its still needed obvioulsy biccys gut dont need no help lol, hes staying in with us tonight to be spoilt of course, he is looking very sorry for himself right now and is laying stretched right out in his cuddle cup aw bless him,
 
LOL aww, the poor darling. So it was a tumour? Have heard of fibreplex but never used it love.
If he's eating, then like you said I don't think he needs to take it either.

Maybe they gave it you in case? :)
 
yes it was a tumor but Mr Philips said it did'nt look anything sinister I was asked if I wanted it analized but to be honest if it was sinister it could grow back again and it could take a while to do so and he would be getting on in age, and theres nothing he can do if it is anyway, so as long as it was removed and not able to ulcerate anymore i'm happy with that,
I have given him a dose of the pre/pro biotic( I read the box) he actually liked it so its not doing him any harm so will do as suggested, they did give me some critical care food but he hopefully wont need it,
 
biccys got the all clear from the vet as far as the op went, what the lump was I'm not too bothered just so long as its gone and he is now 100% better .if it comes back we will just have to deal with it then, :)
