Hey all,

About a month or so ago I posted a thread about Biscuit (our 15 month-old boar) and his poop problems (maybe don't read this if you're eating...).

Any way, Biscuit's droppings are still odd. A few days ago he did a big "blob" of poop that was pretty soft, not liquidy just soft, like mousse... So we stopped giving him pepper which was the only fresh thing he'd had which he doesn't get regularly. His poops have returned to what for him is "normal".

His "normal" poops are not normal either. If you were to put his next to Caramel's (also 15 months old), they would be only 60% of the size and not as solid/hard when they dry out. They also taper in at the end as if he had to really push to get them out. He's not impacted though and does a good amount of these poops. He also has a good appetite and eats plenty of hay so I don't think it's his teeth.

Today, his poops are their usual size and consistency but also really very dark. Any ideas?

Any one who knows Biscuit's history will know how many helath issues he's had but most importantly for this case I think is the fact that last year he nearly died from digestion issues. He had a URI and was given engemycin (which I'm told is normally very GP-safe). That day he had diorrhea followed by gut stasis. He recovered through Zantac and a lot of care (plus his own grit and determination bless him). He has had poop issues ever since. What do you all think? Should I be worried? I don't really want to take him back to the vet unnecessarily...

Thanks everyone :)

Not an expert but thought i'd share our issures with Putt.
She has had long term bladder and bowel issues ( she has constipation and tapered poohs and visibly strains too) . She was recently on antibiotics for a different reason and so we gave her pooh soup from a healthy pig. The biazarre thing is that this seemed to help her immensly with her other issues more than any of the treatments she had recieved so we have kept it up.

In conclusion to my waffle it may worth giving healthy pooh soup to increase the bacteria - can't harm.
