Helllooo :)
Right, we are getting some piggies just after xmas, however we live in a flat that has a 'no pets' policy. Unfortunately we have an inspection every 3months :(
My question is, how difficult is it to take down a hutch once its been erected? I was thinking that we could take it down, put it back in its box and cover it in the hallway and take the piggies out in a cat carrier to our communal, big grassy garden for half an hour and place them in a playpen?
Is it very difficult to take them down/ put them together again? If so perhaps i could bring it inside and turn it on its side in a corner, cover it and pretend its a table? ...
I did read somewhere on the internet that they're is little law enforcement for the 'no pets' policy within tenancy contracts anyway? It just means you are liable for any damages that could be seen as made by an animal...is this true?

xx

You could be evicted if you get the pigs and the landlord suspects as your are breaking a condition of your tenancy. :(

Also what if the landlord see's the piggies in the pen?

I personally wouldn't do it - sorry if this sounds mean or if it's not what you want to hear *huge hug* xxxxxxx

Some landlords will state no pets but will if you ask them nicely beforehand let you have a caged animals as long as you agree to pay for any damages caused by them, I would not risk being caught out and then having to rehome either yourself or them!

Better be aboveboard and asked beforehand, if you do not want to be evicted. Make it clear that these will be caged animals and you are prepared to pay for any damages incurred by them.

Thanks for your replies, perhaps i will have a word with the landlord! I would hate to have to re-home the little guys after falling in love with them :( xx

You don't sound mean! It probably is a bad idea to risk it as it would be horrible to have to move the piggies on if we were caught. They wouldnt see them in the playpen as the communal garden is in the middle of our square all closed off by gates and trees and they wouldn't be able to get in.
Still, i will have a word with the landlord and hope for the best! Fingers crossed :) x

Hopefully when you talk to him he'll be fine with it as they'll be caged :)
fingers crossed you for hun! =D
