Last week i went to the vet for a checkup on my 2 boars, ed and donal.
I also had noticed they had been biting and scratching an awful lot.
She said it was strange since they dont have fleas, mites, infections, ticks, and is perfectly healthy.

I took them off hay for a while,
(not happy at all with me!)
Cleaned up cage, and used some fleece, nothing has changed and I'm slightly concerned?
Any ideas?

No sign of hair loss? Flakey skin?

Are they both scratching and biting? Or just one of your boys?

When you say took them off hay, do you mean as bedding or food as well?

Are they indoor? I've noticed my pigs get a bit itchy when the heating first comes on in winter as they get a bit of dry skin but they're fine. Could it be something like that?

No sign of hair loss, and piggies are outdoors in hutch.
Both boars also.
I took them off it for bedding, and hand fed them hay.

Hmm I'm not sure then, hopefully it's nothing! I can't see it being the hay though, I'd still make sure they have an unlimited supply in there :)
