Hi, I have had my guinea pig for two months now and he was so gentle and loving to begin with. We introduced our new Guinea Percy and his brother Wilbur to our one Guinea's who had recently lost his partner. We soon found out that three is a crowd and Percy turned to hurting the others and drawing blood. The other two became so quiet and withdrawn and frightened of him, we had to make the hard decision to take Percy away from the others. He now lives inside with us and he loves the company of our dog through the bars in his cage and he is handled regularly and he gets up in the garden for a run most days. He is cleaned out everyday and given lots of love. he used to lap up the attention but he has turned to biting my nine year old. She has held him before and having has Guinea pigs for most her life she knows how to hold them and I watch her with them and she is ever so gentle. Percy will occasionally bite her so hard he draws blood and bruises her skin. He doesn't bite anyone else. We have tried to look for patterns in his attacks but they are so random we cant figure it out.
I would appreciate some help asap. My nine year old is terrified of him and wont hold him anymore and when she gains her confidence to hold him again he will be okay for a couple of weeks and he will turn on her again.
Thnak you in advance
Milly.
