Is it normal for boars to nip when you put your fingers through the cage?

It never hurts, never seems aggressive ... more like they're 'tasting' us?

But, one of them just bit my nose! I was cuddling him on the sofa and maybe kissed him one too many times and I felt his teeth on my nose. Again it didn't hurt, just enough to feel it.

What is this?

well I'm not sure. but my gilbert always tries to bite my hand. it might be that they think it is foood. even if youre not feeding them, if you stick your hand in the cage it may signal to them that food is coming. everytime I'm feeding gilbert he always ttries to get my hand too :] even if I'm not feeding him

My boys occasionally nibble my fingers too they only do it very gently and I think it is a kind of tasting thing, I think you'd know if it was in an aggressive way!:))

One of my new boys Harry nibbles my fingers when hes out to tell me he needs the toilet and Snoop will lick my fingers if they're anywhere near his mouth, hes the only one of my 4 who does this though.

My Dexter has a nibble if you put your fingers through his bars, but he seems to do it affectionately, because he licks and nuzzles the finger too!

I quite like it, but the OH says he doesn't like feeling like piggy food! rolleyes
